Bart Kellnhauser
Bart Kellnhauser’s 34-year career began as film director for WSAU-TV when that station went on the air in 1954. His entire career was spent with WSAU-TV where he also served as Program Director, 1956-63, Executive Vice President, 1963-75, and as President and General Manager from 1975-88. He was a longtime Secretary of the Wisconsin Broadcasters Association and served as Chairman of the WBA’s Public Television Liaison Committee. Kellnhauser dedicated a good deal of his time to community service concentrating on development efforts in the Wausau area, improvement of local education and children’s activities. He served as president of the Marathon County Development Corp., Central Wisconsin Progress, the Community Service Building Corp., and Co-Chairman of Wausau Downtown Development Council. He was also active with the Boy Scouts of America, Family Counseling Service, North Central Technical Institute’s DECA Club and Newman High School’s Olympic Band Committee. His efforts were rewarded when he was twice awarded Citizen of The Year honors, by Wausau area technical educators in 1975 and by Wausau area veterans in 1978.
Bart Kellnhauser passed away on October 30, 2009.
