Bob Southard
In a broadcast career that spanned 6 decades, he began as a Staff Announcer and Program Director at WMAM-AM, Marinette, in 1948, where with a 3 year hiatus for military service, he served until 1954. Over the next 39 years, he served all three major television networks in Green Bay. From 1954 to 1956 he was a News Anchor and Commercial Talent for WLUK-TV. He moved to WFRV-TV in 1956 as a Sales Account Executive and worked his way up to Local Sales Manager, General Sales Manager and then, from 1966 through 1985, served as Vice President, General Manager. From 1985 until his retirement in 1993, he was National Sales Manager for WBAY-TV. His community service during his Green Bay tenure included work with United Way, the YMCA, Salvation, St. Vincent Hospital and UW-Green Bay Founders Association. He was active in the Wisconsin Broadcasters, serving eight years on the Board of Directors of the Wisconsin Broadcasters Association and as President of the WBA in 1975-76.
Bob Southard passed away on October 25, 2015.
I’ve had the privilege of knowing Bob Southard for the past few years .Bob is one of the smartest gentleman I’ve met. He’s very active in our community. Bob loves people and has a kind heart!
Bob has had many achievements and is loved and admired by many. Wish I’d met you earlier in life Bob.

I am proud to say I know Bob. He is a wonderful man, we used to meet with him and his wife on a social basis. He is a lot of fun to be with. Congrats to Bob for all the things he has accomplished in his life.
