Bruce Wallace
Began his broadcast career as a news reporter in Omaha, Nebraska and Dayton, Ohio, before moving to WTMJ radio, Milwaukee in 1945. In his 22 years at WTMJ he managed the publicity, merchandising, sales promotion, research, public relations and public service activities. In 1964, he became the first non-owner, non-manager to be named President of the Wisconsin Broadcasters Association. He served as the first Executive Director of the Wisconsin Broadcasters Association from 1966-1974.
Bruce Wallace passed away in February, 1974.
I was there when Daddy received this honor and I remember seeing the plaque in the SHSW faciity when
I visited Madison. He was an amazing man and I wish I had been smart enough to ask him more
about his past. Peter, how did you come across this? You know you were a favorite of his.
