Elmo Reed
Longtime Post Corporation Chief Engineer whose career covered 47 years, from 1937-1984. He attended the RCA Institute in Chicago and then served as staff engineer at WROK-AM, Rockford, Illinois, from 1937-47. His career at WROK was interrupted by World War II and military service where he worked with radio navigational systems and radar installations. After resuming his civilian career at WROK, he moved to Green Bay to become Chief Engineer for WJPG-AM/FM, where he served from 1947-1962. From 1962-1966, he was Chief Engineer for WEAU-TV, Eau Claire. Reed served as Director of Engineering for the Post Corporation’s group of nine radio and television stations from 1964 until his retirement in 1984.
Elmo Reed passed away on December 31, 2014.
Yes my Dad Bill Wriedt work with Elmo Reed when he was chief Engineer at WLUK- TV 11. At that time post Corporation owned part of Channel 11. I am so proud of my Dad as chief at that time from 1970’s.
