Jim Tomlin
Jim Tomlin’s 42-year career in broadcast sales and management began with radio sales positions from 1955 to 1959 with WISC-AM, Madison and WNAM-AM, Neenah. In 1959, he moved over to television, and most of his next thirty-eight years were spent in the Green Bay market. He worked in sales at WBAY-TV from 1960 to 1963, served as general manager of WLUK-TV from 1966 to 1970 and then WGBA-TV from 1984 to 1997, during which time he also helped put WACY-TV, Appleton/Green Bay on the air. He also served stints as sales manager and general manager for WLUC-TV, Marquette, Michigan and sales manager for WTOG-TV, St. Petersburg, Florida, from 1971 to 1984. Tomlin was active in many youth organizations, community development groups and served on the Wisconsin Broadcasters Association Board of Directors.
Jim Tomlin passed away on July 13, 1997.
