Laurin Jorstad
His 37-year television career began in 1973 with six years as a sales executive and then sales manager at WAOW-TV, Wausau. In 1979, he began a 30-year stint as that station=s General Manager. His career was highlighted by 27 years as Executive Producer for the statewide TV network broadcasting the Wisconsin Interscholastic Athletic Association state high school boys= and girls= basketball and hockey championships. In 1987, he was one of the co-founders of the Badger State Winter Games, Wisconsin=s pre-eminent winter amateur athletic competition. He served 10 years on the Wisconsin Broadcasters Association Board of Directors and as Chairman of the Board in 1992 and was the Association=s liaison with the W.I.A.A. for 20 years. He also served over 15 years on the Board of Directors of the Wisconsin Broadcasters Association Foundation, including 10 as its Vice Chairman.
