R. Perry Kidder
His 38-year career has been built on the foundation of sales and management. A 1971 University of Texas graduate, he began his broadcast career with a three-year stint with the national sales firm, HR Television and spent five years at WMT Radio & TV in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, serving as a radio sales representative, regional TV sales manager and finally as General Manager of WMT Radio. He moved to WFRV-TV in Green Bay in 1980, first as an account representative, then local, national and general sales manager until 1993 when he became Vice President and General Manager. Throughout his career he has been devoted to his community and his industry. He served as President of the Green Bay Ad Federation and on the Executive Committee of the Green Bay Packer Hall of Fame and he served on the Board of Directors of the Wisconsin Broadcasters Association for six years and as its Chairman in 1998, and on the Board of Directors of the Wisconsin Broadcasters Association Foundation beginning in 2007. With a generous donation in 2008, he became the founder of the R. Perry Kidder Broadcast News Resource Center, an online resource center of broadcast journalists in Wisconsin.
