Robert Bodden
In a career that stretched over 50 years, Bob Bodden was an announcer, newscaster, general manager and station owner, and industry leader. He began his career at WISN-AM, Milwaukee, in 1941 and later built stations WRCO-AM, Richland Center (1949), WSWW-AM/FM, Platteville (1955) and WMIR-AM, Lake Geneva (1964), managing the Platteville stations from 1955-83. Bodden was President of the Wisconsin Broadcasters Association in 1965-67 and served as its Executive Director form 1982-1988. He was appointed to the Wisconsin Educational Communications Board, the governing board of the state’s public broadcasting system, in 1987 and was elected its Chair in 1991.
Robert Bodden passed away on June 23, 2010.
