Sidney Bliss
A pioneer broadcaster who started with a wireless station in Kenosha in 1914 and built a broadcasting-publishing career that spanned over 50 years. He built WCLO-AM (1930) and WCLO-FM (1947) in Janesville and WGEZ (1948), Beloit. He became co-publisher and President of the Janesville Gazette Printing Company and Southern Wisconsin Radio, Inc., in 1937. His management hat aside, he was “Uncle Sid” to Southern Wisconsin kids in 1940’s-50’s whom he entertained on his “ABC Club”.
Sidney Bliss passed away on July 1, 1969.
