Tony Moe

moeHis broadcast sales and management career began in 1946 as a sales account representative for KELO-AM, Sioux Falls, South Dakota. In the 1950’s he served in various sales, promotion and management capacities at WCCO-AM, Minneapolis, KNXT-TV, Los Angeles, WHO-AM, Des Moines and with the CBS Television Network in Detroit and New York. Form 1960-72 he was co-owner and general manager of WKOW-AM, Madison and the stations then making up Wisconsin TV Network ,WKOW-TV, Madison, WAOW-TV, Wausau and WXOW-TV, La Crosse. In 1972 he left commercial broadcasting and joined the Wisconsin Educational Communications Board, governing body of the state’s public broadcasting system as its Executive Director and general manager of the Wisconsin statewide public radio and television networks, positions he held until 1984.

Tony Moe passed away on June 23, 2001.

    As a young TV/Radio lawyer in Washington DC, I came to know Tony with the Wisconsin TV Network. Later as a lawyer at the FCC, we reconnected.
