2010 General Election for Governor – Barrett & Walker

Milwaukee’s County Executive and Mayor faced off in this tight election campaign on September 24, just 5 1/2 weeks before the General Election. It was the first race for Governor without an incumbent since 1970, as the two Milwaukeeans fought hard to see who would replace the retiring Governor, Jim Doyle. At the time of the debate the race was being called a dead heat. The hottest election topics were a huge state budget deficit, job creation, and a high speed rail project connecting Milwaukee and Madison. The debate was produced live from the studios of WTMJ-TV, Miwlaukee.
