Historic photos from Milwaukee stations WRIT-AM, WXIX-TV, and WISN-TV
Photos from Frank Stelloh of:
–When WRIT-AM went into automated programing. Frank worked as a broadcast engineer for that station during that time and just after that period, when it became rock n’ roll format again under Airtrails from Ohio. The pictures are of the analog automation apparatus as well as the (live DJ) control room and announcer booth and “action central” newsroom.
–Frank also worked for WXIX-TV and took a picture of the WXIX-TV, Channel 18, control room and studio, which was housed together with the transmitter and antenna on top of the Schroeder Hotel in downtown Milwaukee.
–There’s also a photo of the beginning of Channel 12 in Milwaukee, WTVW, back in 1950s of ‘Dr.Eon’s Lab’ host.
