Bob Barry’s Unearthed Interviews Podcast: Johnny Olson

Johnny Olson was a radio-TV personality best known for his announcing on game shows. He appeared on “What’s My Line,” “To Tell the Truth,” “The Price is Right” and many more. Johnny worked for WTMJ in Milwaukee with the Rhythm Rascals and became the station favorite. He then went to Hollywood only to return to WTMJ where he created “Johnny Olson’s Rumpus Room” which attracted popular performers of the day, including Spike Jones and the Andrews Sisters. Olson appeared on many other radio and TV shows throughout his career. He was probably best known for his “come on down” line on “The Price is Right.”
