Dick Record
He began his radio and television career in 1955 in the Youngstown, Ohio, market. In 1966, he joined Wisconsin-based Midwest Family Radio as morning news anchor at WISM AM/FM, Madison, and in 1971 moved to Midwest Family Radio’s stations in La Crosse, WIZM AM/FM which later acquired WKTY-AM and WRQT-FM. He served over 30 years as the General Manager and as morning News Anchor for these La Crosse stations. He was a long time member of the Wisconsin Freedom of Information Council and served on the Board of Directors of the Wisconsin Broadcasters Association Foundation fro over 10 years beginning in 1990, eventually holding the office of Secretary of the Foundation Board. He served a myriad of community organizations in the La Crosse community and during his career was recognized professionally for news and editorial contributions by the Wisconsin Broadcasters Association, the Madison Press Club, the Associated Press and the Northwest Broadcast New Association.
