Gerald Bartell

bartellHe left a career as a University of Wisconsin Professor in 1947 and built a family broadcasting business into one of the nation’s largest broadcasting and publishing giants, Bartell Media Corporation between 1947 and 1968. In the process he built, acquired or developed 16 broadcast properties around the country including WEXT, WOKY, WOKY-TV, Milwaukee, WTWT, Stevens Point, WAPL, Appleton and WMTV-TV, Madison.

Gerald Bartell passed away on July 27, 1990.
